Arcos de Valdevez - Municipal Square

There you can see the Town Hall and a 16th century pillory.

Arcos de Valdevez is known for a battle on 12th century, between the first portuguese king and its cousin from Spain, won by king Afonso Henriques of Portugal.

The bridge, from the 14th century, was on the middle age controled on the entrance of the city of Barcelos by the Count and its palace.

Esposende - Cávado river and sea
Esposende cost is officialy protected for its unusual beauty.

Monção is over the river Minho on the border between Portugal and Spain. Built inside a fortress, it still keeps most of it. Also known for the wine Alvarinho. A unique quality wine that can only be found here.

Ponte da Barca - The Poets Garden
Ponte da Barca is another small town built around a medieval bridge over the river Lima. It was used to cross the river on the way to Santiago de Compostela (Spanish pilgrimage temple)

This town was created before the existence of Portugal, although it was recognized as a town in 1515.


Paredes de Coura - Visconde de Moselos Square


Terras de Bouro - Santa Isabel do Monte village
Located at a 900 metres high, this village still keeps their original houses built in granite, and the ambience of the traditional portuguese rural houses.
