There you can see the Town Hall and a 16th century pillory. Arcos de Valdevez is known for a battle on 12th century, between the first portuguese king and its cousin from Spain, won by king Afonso Henriques of Portugal. |

Ponte da Barca is another small town built around a medieval bridge over the river Lima. It was used to cross the river on the way to Santiago de Compostela (Spanish pilgrimage temple) |
